Gas

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

I just watched a piece on WUSA 9’s news. That’s the one based out of D.C., for clarification. The piece that I watched was about the rising prices of crude oil, and how we’ll be noticing the difference at the pump within the next day or so. OK, fine, that’s a fact. Gas prices are going to go up. I got it.What I don’t get is why every person that channel nine interviewed was laughing at the situation, as if they found it funny. The reporter questioned one woman regarding her laughter, and she backpedaled, saying that she …

Much as I was so glad to get out of Ashburn and be on my own, I have to say… I miss it. Now really, what do I mean by “it?” I don’t think I miss the familiarity of the physical place we all know as Ashburn, The Burn, Cashburn, etc. No, I miss the memories. I miss the people. There’s a little less than one hour before I have to get into my MRD uniform and go impress a bunch of high-schoolers. Scott told us that we would be excited, and to my surprise, I am. Hence, they were awesome. Now it’s my turn to be awesome. My stance on being a part of the MRDs has changed from a few …

I went on my first-ever MRD trip yesterday. We traveled to Chesapeake, VA to be the exhibition band at a USSBA competition for high school bands. I had a really great time and got to know a few people better over the course of the trip, which was nice.Charter buses are fun… I ended up right up front with some of my section – fortunately, the ones I like – and got a little bit of studying done for my GPhil midterm. We got the DVD player working (finally) about halfway there and popped in Zoolander, which was …

Here I am…

After not posting in my Xanga for oh, three months, I decided that it was time to move on and leave natural separators where they lie. Xanga was my life throughout high school, and it looks as though Blogger is where I can call home for at least part of college. Now… what to talk about? I guess college could be a good, broad topic on which I start.CollegeJMU is so incredible. There are certain moments where I’m walking to class, or hanging out with people, where I take a look around and realize that …
