Last week…

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

So this is it. Thirty-six minutes ago, the last Monday of my freshman year became the last Tuesday of my freshman year. Cool. I’m not really sad about any of it, because this year has been beyond-words incredible.I’ve met some of my closest friends here. I performed as part of a nationally high-ranked marching band. I raced “extreme” go-karts. I lived with some guy that I didn’t know from anywhere, and made it out alive. I treasurered and photographied for my dorm’s community council. I made my parents proud. I went to Disney World, Virginia Beach, and Chipotle …

Rain

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

I like the rain. It keeps the pollen count down, therefore keeping my congestion down. Of course, it’s back up as soon as I go into my room. Bah, at least there’s only two weeks left.I decided to leave things with Mike as they are for now. I think to bring anything up would be awkward, so I’m going to wait and see how tomorrow’s MM meeting goes and perhaps re-evaluate from there. I sent him a nice Facebook message anyway, just saying thanks again for the ride on 33, and that his awkward taste in music is …

New Radicals

Monday, April 21st, 2008

You only get what you give… so they say. I’ve been contemplating this Mike thing all day and still don’t really know what to say or do. There’s the option of just not saying anything altogether, which won’t necessarily make things more awkward, but I doubt it’ll push them the other way.And then there’s New Radicals blasting through my speakers, telling me that I only get what I give, and that I’m gonna get what I give. Maybe I’m not giving enough.Hrmph.Maybe I should wait till the final MM meeting, so things wouldn’t …

Mi coche

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

was hit about a week ago. Hit-n-run, obviously. I think it was a drunken hit-n-run. Whoever hit me did a nice $1,500 in damage to the front end, but left enough of their car behind for the MM guys to determine that the driver was in a Mazda6.We kind of maybe found the 6 that hit me yesterday. Mark took some pictures and I’ll be calling the Harrisonburg PD soon enough to let them know. After our MManhunt (great name, huh?) we took a cruise up and down 33 West. I rode with Mike and we all …

Three Weeks

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

That’s all that’s left of freshman year. I can’t believe it went by so quickly – it seems like I moved into an empty building with no A/C and 100° temperatures only yesterday. And now… what a world of difference and change. I’ve met a ton of great people, made many good friends, joined some (bawlin’!) clubs, and have some good stuff already lined up for next year. Oh yeah, and my grades are still in good shape, too. I pulled a 3.51 after my first semester, and it should stay roughly the same following this spring. Who knew I …

Oh, Terri

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Let’s hear it for Terri Prodoehl, ladies and gents. Her recent mastering of tabbed browsing is phenomenal and gah, I love the cat videos from YouTube before every class. In all seriousness, though, she’s pretty damn good for a health teacher, and definitely knows the topics and is passionate about them. And… three hacks for my roommate, who has had some form of a cough since we got back from Spring Break. It’s started happening at night too, and I sent him this Facebook message this morning (because we’re never around each other during the day):Hey, I …

Chipotle

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Road trip today! I headed out with some friends and we drove to Charlottesville – about an hour away – to get dinner. Chipotle, to be exact. I’ve come to like the food there and it was a nice change from Aramark’s idea of mexican food, aka Zoca. From there we headed to U.Va to meet up with Cary (Jillian’s boyfriend) for a few minutes, since we were in the area. After getting way lost within the labyrinth that Thomas Jefferson decided was the best road system on a college campus, we finally found Cary and hung out for …
