Kind of. I got new lenses and “ear jackets” – aka the rubbery things on the ear pieces – for my Oakleys for Christmas. Cheap way to make them look new again, and I finally wrestled the ear jackets on the frames today.

That’s how the store was today. Lots of tire-kickers but not many people with their Visas whipped out. Eric wants to “chat” with me tomorrow about metrics. I’ll be honest with him, but really… it’s two days after Xmas and people are done spending money. That’s just how things are. Sigh. I’m pretty sure I want back in on the concierge beat.
In other news, I was almost creamed twice by a tour bus on the way home. I zipped off and left the driver very worried if he had hit me or not. Putting on your hazard flashers and crossing …
Workin’ at the Apple store…
Thanks Feist
Numbers were slightly baller yesterday. Really, all that the managers are looking for is proportional. Unfortunately, I got hit with more of the “in-n-out” customers today so things were dim again. Not zeroes, but nothing was above 50%. After Christmas, I hope to have better numbers for Mac sales. iPhone sales will suck because it’ll be the “redeem gift card” people and they will not want anything more than what the GC is paid for.
Oh, holidays in retail. They bring out the true colors of people. Tomorrow will probably be full of last-minute shoppers …

Even when he’s buzzed, he can still show benefits of the iPhone. Love it, Josh

I don’t know what’s more sad, the fact that Ms. Dolphin was right (but cheated on grade school spelling) or that her friend thinks it’s spelled Louie.
Sucky day at work today, from a numbers perspective. I chatted with Lori about it at the end of my shift and she said that “we may put you back in red.” That would mean going back to Concierge duties versus Specialist. I mean, today really was abysmal. I sold 4 Macs, a zillion iPods, like 3 iPhones, and what did I do on metrics? Two AppleCares. That’s it.
Part of it may be training or lack thereof. Lori mentioned how they kinda threw me into this because I know my shit. She’s right. I did core training and know basic …
My left hand is semi-permanently cramped in the “hold-an-EasyPay” position after too many hours of holding said EasyPay.
run boys run!
Driving home from work tonight. It’s 8:15 and Route 50 is sparsely populated. I come to the traffic light just before I merge onto Route 28. The light is red, and there’s a car in front of me. As I get closer, I admire the four round taillights and overall nice design. Then I notice: it’s a Ferrari, an F355 Spider.
The light turns green. He accelerates, as do I. The on-ramp is right there, so we keep things in check. But once he merges over, I am overwhelmed with the sound of the Ferrari V8 as it screams …
So we lost. End of season… but damn was it a good one.
GO DUKES!
I may attempt to re-design my dad’s website. Ambitious project.
Perhaps I should practice on my own site first.
I told Daisy I would post this. It’s part of my final GHum papers, talking about how the books we read can relate to our lives today. The quote is from Freud’s Civilization and Its Discontents.
“This aesthetic attitude to the goal of life offers little protection against the threat of suffering, but it can compensate for a great deal.” (33) Some choose to dress according to their personality, while others merely follow trends that they deem “safe.” Tell me, does every college girl wearing a belly-shirt, black North Face jacket, leggings and Uggs really…
