So, the holidays are (technically) over by now. It’s December 26, the day after Christmas, and retail was booming all day. I wrote an earlier post (way long time ago, click here) about how to act in public. Consider this post a follow-up, social behavior training for the masses.

East Campus, Raves, and Viral Social Media

This past Sunday evening, I took part in one of the coolest things that’s happened in my time at JMU. Nate casually mentioned this “ECL rave” at Sarah’s party, and proceeded to invite us all on Facebook. The rave was modeled after a “flash mob” type of event at the University of North Carolina last year. UNC had about 3,000 people in attendance, and the goal was supposedly to break the 3k mark.

Ben did some research and figured out that our East Campus Library at JMU is one-fourth the size of the UNC library. Clearly, 3,000 people wouldn’t fit. Regardless, …


Finals and the Final Weekend

It’s Saturday, almost 6 in the evening. I’m leaving in about an hour to go “ice fishing” with the MM guys. My poor car. I beat on it, especially in the snow. Fortunately it’s never left me stranded somewhere. Major knock on wood here.
