Hey there. I’m Jake. I’m a senior at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the School of Media Arts & Design, with a minor in Writing and Rhetoric.
My interests within the field vary widely, from photography to writing to all forms of design. Fortunately, the programs in which I am enrolled allow for real-world involvement within my interests.
My life does not revolve entirely around school. I have amazing family and close friends, and stay active in various clubs and student organizations. One of the clubs in which I take a great interest (in fact, I’m the club’s President this year) is Madison Motorsports. We are a bunch of fun-loving car enthusiasts, who enjoy our vehicles both on-road and to a much higher extent on the track. Check out my Motorsports page to see my car and what I do in my free time!
I also mentioned photography as an interest of mine. I am always willing to contract for a job, so please let me know if you are interested! I love pushing the limits, and showing the world in different, unique perspectives.
My post-graduation plans are still to be determined. I’m a fan of warm weather – I love my short sleeves, flip flops and convertible – but don’t know if a move to the west coast is entirely what I want. I am exploring my options on both sides of the country… North Carolina is currently in my head as a solid possibility.
For now, I’m focusing on my final year of education at JMU and how to make the most of the limited time that remains as a student. I make a point to work hard – but to “play” just as hard – and thus far, have had a phenomenal time at JMU and in the city of Harrisonburg.
